A big thanks to all of our Seaview Farm friends who came to our Greenhouse Openhouse on Saturday, March 24th. We had a great time enjoying Regina’s Seaview Farm beef stew over an open fire.
Visitors took a tour of the greenhouse and chatted with Farmer Ken about what is growing in the greenhouse during these cold March days, getting ready to offer our patrons in the Farmstand in the coming weeks.
We dyed and painted wooden eggs with vegetable-based dyes, took nature walks, and enjoyed fresh spinach from First Light Farm, another small local farm who will be partnering with us during the upcoming growing season, bringing fresh vegetables to Rockport. The Rockport Celtic Duo provided music by the greenhouse wood stove, and Farmer Regina had several people literally help Seaview Farm grow by planting tomato and basil seeds with her.
It was great to have visitors to our Old Straitsmouth Way field and greenhouse – many of you mentioned that you didn’t even realize our greenhouse existed, so it made introducing it to you especially fun!
See you at our upcoming events in April in May, everything from a farm walking tour to a Farmstore Kickoff to launch our season! Stay tuned!
